Hello everyone!
Welcome to Sycamore Class! We hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer break. It has been lovely getting to know the children this week and hearing all about their six weeks holiday.
This week, we have been thinking about our Class Charter, voting for our School Council representatives and getting ourselves back into the swing of things.
As they did in Year 3, the children have PE on Thursday afternoons. They will need to have clothing for both indoor and outdoor PE as the weather becomes colder and wetter. Children also need to make sure that they take their earrings out before they do PE. This is for their safety during those lessons. Children are very welcome to have their water bottles in class – we encourage them to drink as much water as possible throughout the day. We would also like the children to bring in their reading books each day. Homework takes shape in the form of the project sheets which are similar to those from last year. The children will also be given spellings and will be tested on those on a Friday.
As you may be aware, there is a new government multiplication test which all Year 4 children will take in June. The children will be tested on all of their tables up to 12 x 12. Whilst we try and practice them as much as possible in school, it would be a great help if they could learn them at home as well. A great practice website for the multiplication check is https://www.timestables.co.uk/multiplication-tables-check/
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
