Hello everyone,
This week has been Art Week in school. We have done lots of art work and used lots of different techniques to create some fantastic pieces of work. As a school, we have looked at Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic piece ‘Sunflowers’ and created our own versions. The children carefully drew their version of the sunflowers and then painted them to create really vivid images. The children mixed the primary colours to create secondary colours. We also used black and white to create different shades and tones of the colours.
Following on from this piece of work, we then looked at willow patterns which were imported from China in the late eighteenth century. The children had a go at creating their own willow-pattern plates using blue and white paint.
We have approached another half term and I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone! The last half term of the year will be busy with sports day, transition into Year 5 and much more!
Have a lovely half term and enjoy the rest!
See you all on Monday 3rd June 2019!
