Hello everyone,
We’ve had a fantastic week this week. On Tuesday, we had a wonderful day at Park Hall near Oswestry. We looked at different items used in World War One by both British and German soldiers. The best part was looking around the replica WW1 trenches which gave a fantastic insight to what life was like during that time. The children learned about the length of the trenches and the different uses of various sections. They saw where the soldiers would have slept – it was a very tiny space. Alongside looking at the trenches, we also had some time to have a tractor ride, groom a Shetland pony, watch the milking process of a cow and watch a spot of pig racing! Despite the cold and rain, the children were fantastic.
On Wednesday, we made poppy biscuits as part of our Design Technology work. We mixed together the ingredients in teams and then allowed them to bake. Once they’d cooled, we iced them so they looked like poppies. I really enjoyed this and I think the children did too!
Next week, it will be a little quieter! Children will need their PE kits on Monday and Thursday next week. Spellings are given out, as always, on a Friday and are tested on a Thursday afternoon.
I hope you all have a restful weekend!
