This week, the children have been looking at a new genre in writing – persuasion. We will be looking at persuasive leaflets used during the First World War and will hopefully create our own leaflets in this style.
We have also learnt about democracy this week and talked about voting for our new Head Boy and Head Girl as well as their deputies. We listened to all of the manifestos delivered by the candidates and then voted using specially created ballot slips.
We also learnt about Malala Yousafzai during our R.E. lessons as part of our ‘Important people of different faiths’ unit. The children listened very maturely and asked some very sensible questions during that session.
Spellings have been given out today and the children will be tested on these on Thursday afternoon. The children are to continue working through their WW1 project checklist for their homework.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
