It’s been a short but busy week this week.
Karla-May was the Golden Certificate winner this week for her fantastic maths.
In Maths, we’ve been estimating numbers on a number line and comparing and ordering numbers. Today we’ve looked at Roman Numerals and discovered where we’ve seen them before eg. clocks, written to show World War II, Queen Elizabeth II.
In Literacy, we’ve started to look at biographies. We read a biography about Tom Palmer, the author of our class book ‘D-Day Dog’. We’ve been looking at features of a biography and in particular focusing on past tense. Today we pretending we were transported back in time to London during WWII and after hearing the air raid siren went to an air raid shelter and tried to imagine what it may be like and how we would be feeling.
Although we know the children like to bring in pencil cases we have asked that these please be left at home. We have stationary in school that the children can use and we don’t want any of the children’s special things to get misplaced.
Thank you to all those who have completed the back of the one page profile. If you haven’t yet returned it please can you do so next week. Thank you.
We hope you all have a nice weekend.
See you next week.
