Well, that’s another week closer to Christmas! The children are starting to get excited about the Christmas Performance, it’s great to see so many costumes coming in. Thank you! Details about how to get tickets will be out next week.
The children have created their own character for their story, given them a name and written a description. Next week they will begin to plan and write sentences for their book. I am looking forward to their adaptations of ‘The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark’ by Jill Tomlinson.
In maths, we have continued to learn the properties of 2D & 3D shapes. They know how to name and count the faces of 3D shapes. Next week they will know how to count the edges and to recognise patterns. Today we built 3D shapes using plasticine and straws.
All the children have been discussing the importance of Christmas to Christians. They have spotted signs of Christmas and talked about their own experiences. Most children had sound knowledge of the Christmas Story and could sequence the main events. Today we made decorations for our Christmas tree!
As you may be aware, school are having problems with the internet at the moment which affects our ability to print. As a result, I will give spellings out on Monday should the issue not be solved in time on Friday.
Have a good weekend,
Mrs Dowell & Mrs Armstrong
