Another week has flown by, it will be Christmas before we know it!
The children have been learning about The Christmas Truce during 1914. They have read a newspaper report and written their own version using the historical facts that they learnt. Next week we will move on to information texts about British nocturnal animals.
Most children are working hard to successfully complete Accelerated Reader quizzes on their reading books. It is important that they read each book thoroughly a couple of times. Those reading Bug Club books are using their phonic knowledge to expand their reading. We read in class everyday but it is still important that they read at home little and often. It does not have to be limited to their reading book, if they have a favourite at home, please record this in their diary.
Next week, we will begin our unit of Addition and Subtraction. Pupils will learn the importance of being able to quickly recall the bonds of numbers to 20. The children enjoy maths and are always enthusiastic in their learning.
I hope you all caught the earlier post showing the art work that we did on Wednesday. The children are doing well at remembering the artists that we have looked at over the last four week.
The Golden Certificate was earned by someone who is working hard to listen to feedback and making independent improvements to their writing. Well done and keep it up!
Have a good weekend,
Mrs Dowell and Mrs Armstrong
