What an active week; I am exhausted!
We started the week with our tennis session; the lessons will continue for the next 4 weeks – please remind your child to come in PE clothing for the next four Mondays. We then had an extra PE session, in the afternoon, on Monday when the children played cricket. On Tuesday, the children experienced Arthog – what a day! It was superb and well worth going. The day ran very smoothly, the activities were first class and the children’s behaviour and motivation was a credit to you; I was proud of them all.
We had another cricket session on Friday afternoon – a great way to end the week and it was good to enjoy the weather and be outside.
I tried to base Literacy around the Arthog experience. The children wrote letters to the centre to thank them for the day and to tell the instructors what they liked and we wrote a story entitled ‘Aiden’s Walking Boots’ – some stories were very funny and some were very random and bizarre!
In RE, we learnt about how religions stand for Peace and in PSHE, the children learnt how to aim high and achieve goals but also reflect on how far they have come.
Next week, we have access to an archery kit – I am hoping to take the class out (in small groups) for the children to have a go. Don’t worry we will be using the sucker-tipped arrows rather than bullet tips.
The weather is getting hot now; please ensure the children wear sun lotion as we may have more opportunities to go outside and it will protect them a little from the intensive sun.
Have a great weekend.
