Hello everyone,
This has been a very busy half term and the children have settled in well in to Year 4. We have been finishing our unit on poetry and the children have created their own poems which include rhyming couplets and onomatopoeia.
In Maths, we have been looking at the perimeter of rectangles and squares. The children have worked methodically and are growing in confidence in finding the perimeter more independently.
On Tuesday, we had our annual Harvest Festival. The children sang beautifully in church and represented Sycamore class really well. Thank you to everyone who brought in donations for the Harvest Festival too. It is very much appreciated.
During the first week back after half term, we will be starting our ‘Reading the Game’ programme with Shrewsbury Town FC. This is a fantastic programme and will take place on a Thursday morning. A letter is going home with the children tonight with more information.
On Wednesday 6th November 2019, we will be going on a cinema experience with Year 3. This is during school time and we will be walking to the cinema. Please can you ensure that your child has sensible shoes to wear and a waterproof coat.
Have a lovely half term. Make sure that you get plenty of rest!
