Hello everyone!
This has been another busy week in school. We had our last swimming session (17.1.20) and it was brilliant to see how much the children have improved over the last few weeks. They have improved their swimming ability and also their confidence in the water.
We have also held auditions for our Year 3 and 4 performance – Rock Bottom! The children will receive their parts soon so will need to start practicing their lines. We have already started learning the songs.
In Literacy, we have been completing our unit on diary writing. The children have been writing their own version of a diary entry as if they were a child living in the Stone Age. In Maths, we are coming to the end of our long unit on multiplication and division. We have been starting to divide larger numbers using the ‘chunking method’. This has proven to be a bit tricky but the children are beginning to show more confidence when dividing.
PE lessons are still on Thursday afternoons and at times, the children may have PE outside. We encourage all children to have a warm outdoor jumper, tracksuit bottoms/leggings and a change of suitable footwear.
Children also need to read lots at home and practice their spellings. We have done our STAR reading assessments for Accelerated Reading this week so some children may have a new ZPD number.
Have a lovely weekend!
