Hello everyone!
We have made it to half term and what a half term it has been! The children have been wonderful in adapting to the new changes in school with Covid-19 restrictions. They have shown a great deal of resilience over the course of the last eight weeks.
We have finished our unit on addition and subtraction with the children subtracting larger numbers using a formal written method. We have also been practising our times tables too and the children are making steady progress. They need to make sure that they know all of them (up to 12×12 and the corresponding division facts).
In Literacy, we have been writing character descriptions of Henry VIII. This has linked to our new topic on ‘The Tudors’ which the children have started this week. It has been wonderful to see them going away and finding out facts about Henry VIII and his six wives.
Spellings have gone out today for the children to practise over half term. The spellings are also on the ‘Spellings’ section on the website if they get misplaced. They need to read lots too as this is really beneficial for the rest of their learning.
Lastly, I would like to say a massive thank you to you all for the fantastic effort that has been made with the children’s hairstyles today! They all look incredible!
Have a brilliant half term, enjoy the rest and we shall see you all on Monday 2nd November!
Take care and stay safe!
