Pupil Ambassadors

There are several roles and responsibilities that children can sign up for in school. It is a real achievement to be chosen to represent the school as a Pupil Ambassador and we feel that these roles help pupils show their leadership qualities. It also promotes our school values (Collaborative, Compassionate & Courageous) and allows us to capture pupil voice, as all of the children attending Crowmoor Primary are recognised as import stakeholders in our school community "Team Crowmoor, Stronger Together".

School Council

At the start of the year, each class held a class vote to decide who would represent them at School Council meetings to ensure that all children's voices were heard.

Two representatives from each class regularly attend meetings. They discuss items on an agenda often drawn up from suggestions made by the children themselves, regarding key issues affecting school. All children within School Council have a yellow badge to wear on their jumper so they can be clearly identified by their peers.

Head & Deputy Ambassadors

In Year 6, children have an opportunity to apply for the roles of Head or Deputy Head Ambassadors and act as role models for the rest of the school.  These pupils are appointed through a rigorous selection process during the autumn term. During this process, pupils have the opportunity to write a brief application and present their ideas to the rest of the school, explaining why they believe they are best suited to the role.

Their roles and responsibilities include:

  • Being ambassadors for the school

  • Speaking to visitors and answering questions about life at Crowmoor Primary School

  • Sharing their experiences with children in lower years

  • Being role models for the rest of the student body

  • Meeting the Head of School, Deputy Head of School and other staff members to discuss current issues and developments

  • Presenting awards and certificates

  • Leading and reporting School Council meetings

  • Ensuring School Council elections are carried out fairly

  • Supporting the school in developing new ideas and projects

School Bank

Crowmoor Coin Bank is a school service which allows children to be rewarded by our schools very own currency! Children earn ‘Crowmoor Coins’. Once children receive their Crowmoor Coins, they have a scheduled time to visit the Bank and put coins into their personal account. A group of children in KS2 are responsible for monitoring the bank. They help calculate the total coins each child has, capture the different prizes and experiences that pupils would like to earn and keep the area well stocked, welcoming and inviting. The bank teaches the children about responsibility and the importance of saving money. The bank teaches them about the value of money and demonstrates that hard work is rewarded. We have a Bank Manager and a Deputy Manager alongside several representatives from each KS2 class to support the day to day running of the Bank. They had to attend an interview and complete an application form to demonstrate why they would be a suitable ambassador for this role.

Further ongoing training with the PE Coordinator also occurs to ensure that training is ongoing and progressive.

Digital Leaders

Digital Leaders are part of a team that support and promotes the use of technology in school, helping teachers and peers with digital skills and issues, and fostering a positive digital environment.

Their roles involve:

Supporting staff and students with technology - ensuring technology in our school is of the highest standard.

Promoting digital literacy - which includes promoting responsible online behaviour.

Demonstrating expertise in Computing and technology.

Shaping Crowmoor's digital culture - ensuring technology is used effectively and safely.

Children will develop Leadership skills such as communication, problem-solving and collaboration.

They all have their own ID badges on lanyards (kept in school) so children know who they can ask for help and they have all signed their code of conduct and begun working on relaunching our SMART online safety rules to ensure they are easier to remember. They are also looking at revamping the children's AU agreement to make it more child friendly.
