Good afternoon,
We have had a very productive week in Hazel. We have come to the end on our unit on 'Place Value' in maths and will now be exploring 'Addition and Subtraction'. In English we have been looking at verbs, understanding their purpose and how they can change a sentence.
In history we have looked at a specific part of World War 2 and the children have had some great discussions around this. We have also continued our map work in our Land Use unit in geogrpahy, the children were very good at locating and explaining what they could see in atlases. In science we were exploring fossils and in PSHE we have looking at the range of emotions people have and possible reasons as to why they have them; we then had a go at drawing some of these and sharing them with our class mates.
One child who has done particularly well this week and has been seen helping and supporting other children around the school, and who is this week's Reward's Certificate Winner is Nellie -
congratulations.
There has been a bit more reading recorded at home this week, please keep encouraging the children to read.
This week we managed second in the attendance, so we are on the up. Please keep supporting the children to get to school on time and hopefully we can win.
I hope you all have a great weekend,
Mr Reynolds
