Good afternoon,
We have had a very productive week in Hazel Class. We have finished our book D-Day Dog by Tom Palmer and the children have written some very good reviews reflecting on the book. Alongside this in history we have delved deeper into WW2 and have been looking at some of the vehicles that were used, learning about all the different types and the size of them.
In geography we continued exploring settlements and this week we applied our understanding of keys on maps to identify particular places around Shrewsbury. We then had a go at using a grid reference.
In maths, we are continuing to look at column addition and subtraction with exchanging, the children have got the method but it would be great if they could practice their number bonds to twenty verbally at home to help them increase their speed.
One child who has tried very hard this week and has been contributing more to class discussions, and is this week's certificate winner is Maddie - congratulations.
This half term we still have PE on a Monday and a Friday, please ensure the children wear the correct clothes on the right day.
After coming 4th by half a percent last week in attendance, we manged to get third this week and almost clinched second, please keep encouraging the children to get ready and to school on time.
Please keep up the daily reading at home.
Hope you have a great weekend,
Mr Reynolds
