In Oak class this week, we have been writing our persuasive letters to the European Space Agency applying to become part of the next group of astronauts. We have been using modal verbs, subordinating conjunctions and commas to mark clauses. The children have carefully planned their work and have used paragraphs to separate their ideas.
In Maths, we have started our unit on multiplication and division. This week has been a quick recap on multiplying two, three and four digit numbers by one digit. The children have been carefully presenting their work and making sure that they have been using an appropriate written method. I know some children have found some of the questions a bit tricky as they do not know all of their times tables. We have spoken about how important it is to practise them as they help in many different aspects of Maths.
During our French lessons, we have been identifying where France is and discussing how we can locate different cities in France using north, south, east and west. We have also been discussing ways of how we can promote positive thinking and having a positive approach to different aspects in life. The children did an activity where we talked about the postive traits each child has in class and the importance of being kind and empathetic towards each other. It was a lovely experience for the children to find out what their peers thought about them.
We would like to remind everyone that they need to be reading regularly and practising their times tables. If anyone is unfortunately off school, our remote learning can be found on our class information page on the website.
Take care and have a great weekend!
