Hello everyone,
What a busy week we’ve had in Oak Class! Last week, the children completed their end of term assessments and have done themselves very proud. I have been very impressed with their attitude towards their assessments.
We have been continuing our work on fractions and have been adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. There have been some tricky concepts to think about but, generally, the children have persevered and worked methodically to find the answer. Next week, we will continue our work on adding and subtracting mixed numbers and will begin to look at multiplying fractions.
Spellings have been sent home and they will need to practise them every day ready for their test next Thursday. Children will also need to continue practising their times tables as this helps them greatly in other aspects of Maths.
We have done a lot of work on being kind to each other and how to control our emotions. Children have been trying to work on controlling their emotions to create more positive relationships with their peers.
Next Monday, and for subsequent Mondays after the Easter holidays, children will be having PE on a Monday as well as a Wednesday. They will need to make sure that they are wearing PE kit which is in line with our policy (blue/black tracksuit bottoms/shorts, white t-shirt and a blue sweatshirt) Their school jumper is fine to wear. All jewellery needs to be removed before they take part, ideally before school. Children will not be allowed to take part even if they put tape or plasters over their earrings.
Have a wonderful weekend. Just a reminder that we finish for the Easter holidays on Thursday 7th April 2022 at normal time.
Take care,
Mrs Brunyard, Mrs Parkhurst and Miss Nicholas
