Hello and a very “Happy New Year” to you all. It seems a while since I posted but since we are in the middle of Chinese New Year it seems fitting to say – “Kung Hei Fat Choi” – which is a Chinese sentiment shared during their New Year and translates as “Wish you make a fortune.”
The children have been extremely busy since they returned after the Christmas break. They have written newspaper reports and furthered their knowledge and skills in multiplication and division.
The children have taken their “Star Assessments” as part of our AR reading scheme – they all have their new ZPD ranges written in their reading diaries. I still recommend that your child reads out loud to you every evening and they talk with you about their book, it is also helpful for them to record in their diaries their thoughts and the pages read.
They are currently enjoying creating “shoe-box” theatres ready to film their scripts and present them to their reading buddies in Year 2. Please see the photos below.
I am looking forward to the final presentations.
Miss Ray will sadly be leaving us next Friday: we have really enjoyed having her here at Crowmoor and we wish her every success in her future teaching career.
Have a super weekend, some of us will be celebrating getting rather older! I believe 1966 was a great year to be born!
Best wishes,
Mrs.P.
