Hello! We have had a super week. The children have completed their maths unit: Addition and Subtraction. Next week they will use practical maths as part of their design and technology unit: they will design and make a model of a bridge to add to the other seven around the loop of the River Severn in Shrewsbury. So far they have identified the bridges, plotted them on a map and also noted the differences between now and Medieval times. They have also made a strong structure using wood and triangles! Hopefully they can incorporate these into their designs next week.
As part of our literacy the children have completed and assessed their writing about settings. They were all very atmospheric. Next week we will use drama to enhance our writing where I would like the children to write dialogue into the retelling of a film clip about “Edgar” the dragon who just can’t help himself- he tries so hard but always seems to get too excited and ends up creating a problem.
So, one week left but lots to do. I hope you have a super weekend. I am sure you will all be very busy but if you could find five minutes to spare, the children have their maths challenge which is due in school on Monday. We have completed three of the questions so the children should know what to do. As always they also have spellings: the last ones before 2020!
ENJOY the weekend, Mrs P. x
P.S. I hope our elf doesn’t do anything else too naughty in the classroom over the weekend!
