Hello, what a strange week it was! Thank you to those of you who attended the remote learning lessons, the children have said that hey found them much better than the Oak Academy because there is someone to help you if you have any questions. We talked again about the protocol for online lessons – it is really important that the children treat the lessons as if they were in school so they need a quiet space to work with their books and pencils to hand, they should wear appropriate clothing and can have their drinks to hand but shouldn’t be eating through the lesson. The children are becoming much better at using their devices to mute and unmute – fab!
All lessons will be sent to their emails which they have been given on a personal letter. They also have all of the log-ins and passwords, so it is a good idea to keep them to hand just in case they have to isolate in the future. We will practice, again, using our emails in school. We have also run through, again, where the children can find their timetables and lessons so fingers crossed they will be able to do this.
Last week we were able to carry out reading, writing and maths assessments. This week we will do grammar, punctuation and spelling tests.
Miss Allison managed to get 9 T Shirts tie-dyed with the children so we will continue this this week. If your child has not managed to bring in a white T Shirt for this activity they have time until Wednesday to do so. The children also created their back-grounds for a piece of art-work based around Henri Rousseau’s “Tiger in a Tropical Rainstorm.” They are looking pretty stunning. I look forward to sharing the finished art-work with you at some point.
We are nearly there! We need to keep everyone in school from now until the end of term. Stay safe.
P.S. Keeeeeeeep reading…
