Hello Everyone,
I hope you had a wonderful half term despite the terrible storms and floods! Some have you have been very very busy because the moving robots the children have made are absolutely fantastic! I have them all on display. Some of the other children have promised to bring their’s in by next Wednesday 9th March when we will be talking about them. I hope to talk to the children about the ways in which robots are used in Space as part of our science work this term.
The children have started to learn about fractions during their maths lessons. Their literacy lessons are focussed around newspaper reports.
We have had a tremendous end to the week. World Book Day was incredible, thank you so much for all of the care and support you gave your children – their costumes were outstanding. The whole day started when the BFG came to take our assembly! Mrs Tiggy Winkle taught all day in Oak Class, which was rather interesting! I have put together a separate post of the photo’s from the day.
Today the children have written blurbs for their book characters from World Book Day. They have also written some super thank you letters to Coach Neil – I am sure he will be really chuffed to receive them.
During art the children have completed their alien pictures and rocket pictures which are proudly displayed in the classroom. Again, I will post these photo’s in another post.
The children created a reading river yesterday to show how much reading they do in a day from when they wake up to when they go to bed. Try it… you will be surprised at how much you use your reading skills daily. The children can explain what you need to do but here is an example for you to see.
A huge congratulations to Jaimiey for receiving the golden certificate this week for writing a super letter to Coach Neil. Well done!
Have a super weekend from Mrs.P, Mrs Brunyard and Ms Nicholas.
