Ola!
The poster says it all… we had a fabulous “Mexican Day” on Thursday but we were all shattered on Friday! Thank you for helping to dress your children in the colours of the Mexican flag – they looked incredibly colourful – we have some great photos! Watch this space for the pic collages the children have made to advertise the day. The children enjoyed making Chili Con Carnie, sour cream dip and salsa which was then followed by doughnuts dipped in chocolate, cinnamon and sugar and finally a drink of pineapple, orange and lemon juice. I hope the children will share their new skills and help you out when it comes to peeling and chopping salads and vegetables over the coming weeks. They also completed some sensational pieces of art work which will be displayed in the classroom – well done to Mya, you received the Golden Certificate for your stunning pic collage!
As a lead into our science next term we collected the seeds from the peppers and the chilies and the stones from the avocado, next week we hope to plant them. We also have some marigolds to plant to cheer up the area outside our classroom.
We will continue to work on decimals in maths and complete our posters in literacy. The guided reading groups are working well. No spellings this week but watch this space next week.
Thank you for completing the parent evening slips: you will receive an email next week with your TEAMS time slot. We have tried our very best with the times we have allocated you – it will be a new experience for us all keeping to allocated times.
We hope you all have a super Bank Holiday weekend. If the weather falls cold reading together as a family is a real treat. Stay safe and enjoy the extra day at home.
