once again a super end to a super week. The children have all tried hard with their latest assessments. There are a few more to come next week!
A massive congratulations to Daisy-Mae Wilson for being awarded the Golden Certificate this week: she read 5 out of 6 books for the Shrewsbury Book Award – super.
We have completed our investigation: How to make the Red Planet green. The seeds all grew very well. The deciding factor came down to the amount of water the children used! The daffodil bulbs have all bloomed superbly, the hebs are beginning to germinate and the potatoes are shooting – win, win all round I believe!
We have some strawberries to plant and a bee garden to scatter.
Today has been a day of mixed emotions for all of us in Oak Class: Igor Wenta has left our class. We wish him lots of luck in his new school in Poland. He has been an absolute joy to teach. The children spent the afternoon telling him their fondest memories: his friendliness, helpfulness and someone who tried and worked hard but also liked to play a good game of football has shone through in everything they said. We will miss him and his brother and sister but we hope he will email us via the class email. Just in case you need the email it is as follows:
It looks like it is going to be a sunny weekend so I hope you manage to get out in the Spring air. Don’t forget the clocks will go forward on Sunday which also happens to be Mothering Sunday. Have a super weekend,
Mrs P, Mrs Brunyard and Ms Nicholas.
