We have had a super four days back this week. The children have completed their quest story books. We will continue learning about decimals in our math lessons next week. Our spellings for this week can be found on the spellings site but the children have all been given a paper copy too.
We are all super excited to start our theme for the Summer Term next week! I am sure you have guessed by the flag above and the letter the children have brought home this afternoon that our theme is …
“Around The World in Eighty Days… Mexico!”
To launch our theme we are holding a Mexican Day next Thursday. We would like the children to dress up in red, green or white clothing or all three colours. Please do not buy anything special – we have sombreros at school and false moustaches too!
We have many other exciting things planned for the rest of the term. Our thematic overview will be placed on this page next week for you to see.
Please, please continue to read with your child at home and make a record in their reading diaries. We have spent a long time this week looking at the reading assessment results and organising some super guided reading tasks ready for the coming weeks.
The children need to continue to to learn their times tables. We will be setting some times tables homework in the coming weeks – we will post each task on the homework page and also give each child a hard copy.
Meanwhile, enjoy the lovely weather. I hope hay fever does not get in the way for some of you.
