Hello! We have had a super week completing our science. We have focussed on the Moon. The children have enjoyed carrying out investigations on samples from the moon. They have also studied changes the Earth goes through at this time of year: we have payed particular attention to daffodils: the parts of a flower, how insects help flowers reproduce and also how the flower receives water and nutrients from the soil.
The children continue to try to learn their tables: the following website is great fun. It is a bit like “Whack a rat!” but with aliens and times tables…

Have a go… it’s great fun.
Thank you to all of you who came to parent evening: it was great to be able to share with you what your children are achieving. The main comments were about homework and reading. The children know what homework they have: they have a timetable for spellings, tables, maths challenges and research for theme work. They also know that they should read every evening and record this in their diaries. It is essential training for next year and also secondary, otherwise they will have a huge shock. I appreciate any support you can give your child in both of these areas. If you could help them by providing a quiet place for them to read and complete their homework that would be very helpful. Thank you.
Meanwhile, let’s hope this Spring-like weather continues. Have a super weekend. Mrs.P.X
