Hola! We have had a super week gathering together all of the things we have learnt about Mexico. The children have remembered so much from the Mexican Day about food, music, dance and art work. The visit from Simon has helped them to learn about a number of creatures from Mexico. Our class shared read about Jack Stalwart has informed them about the terrain in Mexico. So, we have put all of these facts and memories together ready for our writing next week where we will compare Mexico to England. The children have formulated sentences today using compare and contrast words. I am really looking forward to their plans and writing next week.
We have also started our final maths unit all about fractions, decimals and percentages. Any help you can give the children when out and about: perhaps looking at how these are used in shops; would be a great help in their understanding of maths for life.
Finally, the children have brought home a plastic bag to gather some sweets ready for the “Summer Fair.” Any donation is always appreciated. The Friends and School help to subsidise visits, so your help is essential to making learning such fun.
Have a super weekend, Mrs.P. x
