Time really does fly! We have had a very busy week. We were so lucky on Monday when we went to The Rea Brook Valley Nature Reserve – the weather was just right! It was a good walk away but the children noticed lots of street names on the way which will help them when it comes to mapping the route we took. Looking and identifying trees, meadow flowers and wildlife near the stream was super. Some groups managed to catch some tiny fish and water boat man too. Back at school the children have begun to research a river creature which they will use to create a power point for their non-chronological reports. Hopefully, we will be able to email them to you via the children’s emails so that you can read them.
In maths the children have been rounding numbers very successfully to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. Next week they will be working with numbers up to 10,000 and more.
We are eagerly waiting for Kingswood. The children have had lots of questions this week which we have enjoyed discussing. Thank you for all of the forms, we only have a few outstanding which hopefully will be in by Monday. We leave on Wednesday at 1pm and return Friday. The children have been looking at the display of photos today and are very excited.
In anticipation, they need lots of rest this week. Could you make sure your child sees what you pack in their case/bag so that they know where to find their outfits and toiletries when we get to Kingswood.
The children have worked hard on their spellings, reading and times tables this week.
I have attached our Theme Plan: “Wild Waters” for this term on this page and our information page. It will give you some idea of our learning intentions for this term. After our successful visit to The Rea Brook we hope to go to Shrewsbury Town Centre to track the loop of The River Severn after half term.

I have to say a huge well done to Millie for winning the Golden Certificate today. Congratulations to Theo and Amelia who are Oak Classes School Councillors and the same to Maddie and Arthur who will be our UNICEF Ambassadors.
I hope you have a super weekend,
Best wishes,
