Hello,
What a super week Oak Class have had. They have completed their “Haiku Poetry” and have started their new unit to discuss the pros and cons of Athens versus Sparta! The children have also completed their maths unit about “Decimals” and are ready to move onto “Properties of Shapes.”
As a matter of urgency could you talk with your children about the dangers of vapes and vaping. It came to our attention that outside school some of the children had seen vapes and some older children using them. We have talked about the dangers of vaping as part of our PSHE lessons.
Whilst I am writing about PSHE: just a reminder that our “Relationships” unit in PSHE begins this week. This is such a valuable part of growing up, sharing understanding and clearing up misconceptions in a safe and friendly environment.
On a very positive note, a huge congratulations to Bryony who was awarded the Golden Certificate this week for her contributions in all lessons especially maths. Well done, Bryony.
We are still encouraging the children to read every evening and complete quizes. On these lovely Summer evenings and weekends there is nothing quite like sharing a book and reading together. Plus it’s a super time just to share five minutes or so together.
Time will fly I am sure but I hope you have had a super weekend. I have put this weeks spellings – “Place Adverbials” onto the spelling page. Enjoy.
Mrs Parkhurst, Mrs Brunyard and Ms Nicholas.
