Hello…it’s Friday already! What a busy, busy week! Today we went swimming, all went well although a couple of boys managed to swap their T shirts! Thankfully, all was sorted but could you please make sure all items are named: it saves so much time. Strangely, there were no water skiing squirrels in the pool either, much to the disappointment of the children.
I have sent the Parent Evening Appointments home this evening but last night I emailed the TEAMS invites to the children’s emails. They have checked them today and everyone who returned their slips has an appointment. They also have two other emails, one of which has a picture of a water skiing squirrel.
A huge well done to Rosie for gaining the Golden Certificate today for trying hard and achieveing highly on her reading quiz.
We have told the children of the incredibly sad news that Mrs Smith will be retiring next week. She has taught in Shropshire for thirty five years – an absolutely incredible achievement. I will miss her professionalism, support and kindness but more importantly her friendship, I have always felt that Oak Class have been in safe hands on a Monday and a Tuesday and that their learning in grammar, French, RE, Music, Maths and PHSE – to name a few- has developed considerably from start to end. All the super choir visits to the Christmas Tree festival and the fantastic songs we have learnt under guidance. I am sure you will all want to join me in wishing Mrs Smith a very long and happy retirement: she has lots planned! She will always be welcome and I hope that she will return to visit us. Once you are in the family of Crowmoor you never really leave. Good luck Mrs smith, we will miss you enormously.
Next week we have a four day week but we have packed a lot into them. Miss Hipkiss will be joining us for her teacher training over the next few weeks, the children have met her this week. Mrs Clode will also join us in Oak Class on a Monday and Tuesday for the five weeks after half term.
I hope that you have a super weekend, I am rather excited to see my son home for the first time since he started his new job in London. Stay safe and see you next week via TEAMS.
Mrs P, Mrs Smith and Ms Nicholas.
