Good afternoon. We have had another super week, the children are getting used to the routines of school again. Some are still a little chatty, but we will get there.
Well done to those of you who spotted the mistake on the maths grid, we had a lot of discussion about it on Wednesday. The children are using the same grid to look for number patterns as this week’s “Maths Challenge.” A good starting point would be to look for odd and even numbers, look at horizontal, vertical and diagonal patterns too.
We have started our unit about “Explanation” in literacy. The children have looked at the features of an explanation and used the ipads to research and take notes about the journey of a river.
In art we have used the colour blue to practice shading techniques and then to create our own raindrops- they look super.
We have read a little more of our class story, “The Wizard’s of Once,” and the children are thoroughly enjoying it.
This year we are taking part in “Bookfest,” we have been privileged to have been asked to select books from the long list to go forward to the short listing. The children will start to read these after “Kingswood.”
I hope you all have a super weekend, I shall be ensuring I have lots of sleep ready to tackle “Kingswood” next week. Enjoy! Best wishes, Mrs.P. xxx
