Hello,
I can’t believe we are at the end of week 2! The time has flown by.
The children have started their maths unit, “Place Value.” Ask them all about the place value chart or even the rules for rounding – I hope they can remember the “Rounding Rhyme!”
The children all have a homework book, reading book and diary along with their first list of Year 5 and 6 spellings. I have put a copy of the weekly spellings on the spellings section of our class page. Any questions please ask, you can use the class email too.
Only one child forgot to come to school dressed for PE on Wednesday. Thank you for reminding your child not to wear ear-rings on PE day and also to those of you who have remembered the children should not wear nail polish to school. I have to say the children all look very smart in their clean uniforms every day.
We completed the week with an art lesson, mixing hot and cold colours to create a painting – please see below. The children also created a shaded section with paint in their sketch books.
A huge congratulations to Rocco for receiving the first “Golden Certificate” for his fantastic participation in the maths lessons this week… well done! Keep up the hard work. Remember that anyone can be awarded the “Golden Certificate” if they do anything special or outstanding.
I hope you all enjoy the weekend, see you on Monday.
