Hello and welcome back to everyone!
I hope you all had a super Summer, a huge thank you to all of you from last year who gave me some beautiful presents at the end of term, I felt thoroughly spoilt by your kindness.
So hello new class, you have settled really well into the first week. I know there are new expectations and routines to get used to so well done.
The children all have a homework book with a timetable, please note it is not set in stone and may change from time to time… but the children will always know what is expected of them. As a school our main emphasis this year will be reading, spellings and times tables. Occasionally there will be some research work. I will put the homework in the homework section and the spellings in the spelling section just to make sure you are informed- however, the children will always have paper copies. If they don’t then that usually means there simply isn’t any that evening.
We are studying the theme “Wild Waters” this term. You can find a copy of the topic web attached to the information section for our class from Monday.
The children have studied the “Water Cycle” this week and investigated salt solutions too. They have completed some assessments. Next week we start our maths unit about “Place Value” and our literacy unit “Explanation” which is linked to our theme for this term.
We will soon be off to Kingswood. We have also planned a visit to the Rea Brook to study various aspects of local wildlife and later on in the term a visit to walk the loop of the River Severn and study the bridges.
So we have lots to do! I hope you enjoy your weekend, see you next week.
