We have had another great week, the children are starting to get to grips with the new routines of Oak Class. However, could you please make sure that your child has the following items every day:
- Reading book and diary.
- Homework book
- P.E. Kit
We will have P.E. on a Monday and a Wednesday until Half Term. After Half Term we will swim every Friday morning.
So, this week we have started our maths unit: Place Value. The maths challenge was a real eye opener, the children are making sure they can spell their numbers.
Our “Armistice” celebratory lunch was great and launched our theme “Back In Time.” The children really enjoyed their lunch in the hall whilst listening to WW1 songs.
All the staff dressed up as different characters from the wartime era and bunting was made and used to decorate the hall along with a huge number of Union Jacks.
Thank you to all of you who helped to research “Wilfred Owen,” the children will use their research to write a biography about him next week.
Meanwhile, have a great weekend. The “Parkhurst” family will be celebrating their son’s 21st birthday… how time flies! Mrs.P.
