Hello and welcome back! I hope you have all had a restful Easter break.
We have had a very busy week indeed. In our maths lessons we have studied division through reasoning and problem solving activities. We even used the introduction of some tadpoles to our class to complete some real life maths… please ask your child what we did. We are ready to move onto our next unit of work all about “FRACTIONS!”
For our literacy and science units we have researched, written and created labelled diagrams about the life cycle of an Alaskan Snowy Owl. I have asked the children to follow the same methods of research to present an information sheet about the life cycle of a frog. Alongside this we will watch the development of the tadpoles over the coming weeks.
This week’s Golden Certificate winner is Mia Thomas for her superb homework and very much improved handwriting, well done Mia!
Finally, a very special message for Cleo, who we miss very much. We have made you a sunflower with lots of memory messages that we thought you might like…
for example; “I am sending you the sound of a pigeon cooing, I am sending you the sound of the waves crashing on the sea-shore and I am sending you the smell of chicken nuggets!” As you can see Cleo, the children are sending you some interesting memories to make you smile.
Mrs.P has some gifts for you from the class and she hopes to deliver them to you soon. xxx
I hope that you all have a super weekend and I will see you all next week. Please take care in the sunshine… “Slip, slap and slop” as they say in Australia.
