So, next week sees the beginning of December. Preparations are well under way for Christmas in school. Thank you to those of you who sent in your donations for the Christmas Fair, Year 5 and 6 were asked to bring a Christmas decoration, there is still time if you didn’t remember.
We have finally finished our unit on addition and subtraction and we have started the next unit about multiplication and division. The children complete the “Times Table Challenge” four times a week, some have been awarded their first certificate. They need to know their times tables so anything you can do to support them would be very much appreciated. Even singing in the car to Christmas carol tunes works wonders, make it fun and it will stick.
The children have researched a country with a cold or freezing climate in IT and next week they will write their own non-chronological reports independently.
We have yet to test our bridges! Once Mrs.P. can get in her garage to find the remote control car the testing will begin! Meanwhile, our unit on “Forces” continues.
This will be our last week at swimming, the children have all gained so much more confidence and skill in the water. Well done to all of them. They will have the chance to swim again next year, we are one of the few schools who take every KS2 child swimming throughout this key stage for one hour each time each week for a whole term.
Have a wonderful weekend, Mrs.P. X
