This week we have been learning all about Remembrance, through the book ‘Where The Poppies Now Grow’. Year 1 have written some lovely acrostic poems based on the word HERO or POPPY and most children were confident enough to share them with the whole of Holly Class this morning. They will be shared on Tapestry too so please keep an eye out. Reception have been talking about why we wear poppies, and drawing pictures of what Remembrance means to them as well as practicing letter formation.
In Maths Reception have learnt all about the number 4, all the different ways to make it, how and why it is a square number and what coins we can use to pay 4p. Year 1 have continued their unit on subtraction, crossing out, finding missing parts and counting back.
Please remember that reading books and sound cards should be in school every day but particularly on a Monday and Friday when books are changed and new sound cards are added. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend.
