What a busy week it’s been since I returned on Tuesday! The children have been telling (and writing) some fantastic stories this week, making up their own versions of Little Red Riding Hood – there have been some very interesting characters!
In Maths the Year 1s have been completing their termly assessments and honing their number sense on Numbots. Reception have been working on partitioning the number 5 and investigating number bonds with the help of the Numberblocks and the “Whole of Me” song.
We also had two seasonal visitors arrive in class on Wednesday to mark the start of December – I do hope they don’t get up to too much mischief! We have been practicing our Nativity Shepherd Little most of the week too and started making our Christmas cards so it’s starting to feel quite festive! There is a letter that has gone home with the children tonight about their part in the play and some clothes they will need. We will be providing the majority of the character’s outfits, they do just need clothes to wear underneath. I do apologise for the short notice but unfortunately things have been a little delayed by a series of unavoidable staff absences but we would really like to go ahead and start filming towards the end of the week. If you have any queries about your child’s role or what has been requested please email me on email@example.com, call the main office number or catch me on the playground.
Just a reminder that the children should have their book bags, containing their reading records, books and sound cards, in school with them every day, especially Mondays and Fridays when books are changed. It is also helpful to have their login details for the various apps they use that are inside their reading records so they can access them when we have use of the IT suite or ipads.
Have a lovely weekend. 🙂
