We have had a busy week learning about Bonfire Night and Guy Fawkes. In Year 1 the children have written a fabulous Acrostic poem together about fireworks – look out for it on Tapestry. Reception have been learning and performing a fireworks song.
In Maths Reception have been continuing their learning about all things ‘three’ – shapes and money as well as all the different ways we can make 3. Year one have continued their unit on addition and subtraction, problem solving with number bonds.
We had a brilliant assembly mid-week from Shropshire Music Service, the children really enjoyed listening to the music they played and finding out about some of the instruments. They’ve also enjoyed creating bonfire pictures and making and decorating Diva lamps as we learnt about Diwali.
Just a reminder that children should be bringing their sound bags, reading books and reading records to school every day please. As the weather has become significantly colder they also need to have a jumper/cardigan AND a warm coat every day so they can continue to enjoy the outdoor area.
Have a fun, safe Bonfire weekend 🙂
