We have had a great first full week! I am sure the children are all very tired and ready for a restful weekend!
In Literacy, we have been writing our autumn poems. We have been for an autumn walk in forest school to gather some vocabulary ideas and the children used this to produce some fantastic descriptive poems! Our focus has been our presentation and handwriting and I have been so pleased with how hard the children have tired with this.
In Maths, we have been begun our unit on place value. This week we have been learning about to represent numbers, partition numbers and count in 100s and 1000s. There has been great enthusiasm when working which is wonderful to see.
The children started ukulele this week, which was great fun! They have learnt the different names for the part of the instrument- why not ask them to see if they can remember the names? We have also started our topic ‘extreme survival’ we have been looking at hot and cold countries across the world.
Your children will be coming home with two books. One is their accelerated reader book, which is based on their reading level. The other is a free reader, which the children have chosen, from our reading area, to read for pleasure. Please remember to read daily and to record this in their reading records.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Bliss, Mrs Martin and Mrs Evason
