Hello everyone,

We have one more week until half term!

In Literacy this week, we have started our poetry unit, linking this to our class text, Charlie and the Cholate Factory. We took a trip down the chocolate river and even tasted chocolate to help us build a bank of descriptive vocabulary, to include in our own poems next week.

In Maths, we have started our unit on time. We have created our own clocks and labeled these. We have also focused on days, months and years, 24 hour clock and telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes. Please continue to practice this skill at home. Perhaps encouraging the children to read the time at different points in the day.

In Science we have been learning at states of matter. Last week we turned a solid into a liquid and then back to a solid by melting and freezing chocolate… YUM! This week, we investigate how water changes states using ice cubes.
