Wow, it’s been a busy week!
The children are all enjoying learning about The Great Fire of London and merging the facts with our story about Herb who falls into books as they come alive. One pupil said “I really like this kind of literacy!” Next week we will be writing Herb into the facts of The Great Fire of London and giving him a job to do whilst he is there.
In maths, we have learnt to divide using a number line. We will spend a bit longer linking division to our times tables facts. The children have all realised how important it is to learn their times tables.
During Art we looked at the work of Monet and how he used splodges of paint to make his pictures. We used this technique to paint fire pictures ready to build a classroom display.
Our PSHE lesson has been about how we are all different but equal. We took our finger prints and looked at them using a magnifying glass to see how we are all unique. Apologies if they still had some ink on their fingers on Thursday after school!
I have reminded the class that their PE kit should be dark blue or black jogging bottoms, a plain white t-shirt and a dark blue or black hoodie (or a school jumper/cardigan). Any pumps or trainers which stay on their feet as they run around.
Please keep reading, all the children are making progress and will be taking a Star Reader Assessment very soon.
Enjoy your weekend,
Mrs Dowell, Mrs Armstrong and Miss Pritchard
