Elm Newsletter 20.5.22

Posted on 20th May 2022 by Mrs Dowell

What a busy week we have had! The children have done some excellent writing and have really shown the skills they have learnt in Year 2.

In maths we have been learning to tell the time to the quarter hour. It has been difficult but we are getting there. Please help them to know o’clock, quarter past, half past and quarter to on an analogue clock.

Next week we will be writing a letter to the Queen amongst other preparations for the Jubilee Picnic on Friday afternoon.

We have chosen to sing the 90s classic ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis. I was surprised at how many children are already familiar with the track. They are also learning to sing the National Anthem! I hope most of you will be able to join us on Friday for a sing-song through the decades!

The children have brought home a letter about our trip on Wednesday 22nd June. Just a little note to add, if it is rainy on the day, it would be a good idea to have wellies available as we will be spending some time in the woodland building dens.

Have a fab weekend,

Mrs Dowell, Mrs Armstrong and Miss Pritchard
