This week the children have all enjoyed creating their own character for our version of ‘Not Now, Bernard’. They all designed their own monster! They are writing some super description using adjectives, well done!
In maths we are continuing our work in place value by partitioning two digit numbers into tens and ones using a Part/Whole Diagram. We have also been placing numbers on a number line. Which will be closer to zero: 45 or 32? They also need to explain why by saying the properties of a number. “45 has four tens and five ones but 32 has three tens and two ones, so 32 will be closer to zero”
Thank you for your support in reading, it really shows when they read each morning.
All children need to practise their spellings. We are revising Year 1 words at the moment but we will shortly move onto Year 2 words!
In science we have been looking at the materials that objects are made from. Some things can be made from different materials: spoons can be made from metal, wood or plastic.
Next week we will be talking about the properties of materials.
Have a fab weekend,
Mrs Dowell
