Elm Newsletter 18.1.19

Apologies for the late newsletter, we’ve been so busy getting everything ready for the visit on Monday!

All the children have learnt so much about the polar regions and have written some superb paragraphs about the animals who live there. The visit to Sealife will give them the chance to observe how penguins move in the water and how they have adapted to their environment. We can also compare polar habitats with others such as rock-pools, a coral reef and topical regions.

The visit will be the stimulus for our art this term which I’m really excited about. We plan to have an open afternoon later in the term.

The children are all becoming more confident at multiplication although they are finding division a lot more tricky. For the next two weeks we will be learning more about statistics (formally known as Data Handling). We will use data collected about creatures seen on our visit to complete chart and tables.

I hope you’ve had a great weekend, I look forward to seeing all the children at 8.30am on Monday morning to prepare for our trip.
