More Fairground Fun this week with Moving Pictures using a slider mechanism to show bumper cars and rollercoasters!
This week, we have also carried out some mini assessments. All children have shown progress in their reading since the beginning of September so please keep up with the support at home; it’s absolutely vital.
We have started to look at the features of poetry and will be writing our own senses poetry based on a firework display. After we watched some videos of fireworks, we created a colourful word bank of onomatopoeia: BANG! WHOOSH! CRACKLE! FIZZ!…and lots more! Next week we will write our poems and share them with you at home.
In maths we have been adding tens numbers to two digit numbers (34+20=?) by using a 100 square. Next week we will be adding two digit numbers by partitioning tens and ones. All the children need help with instant recall of number facts especially when adding/subtracting two single digit numbers: 5+4=9, 7+5=12, 8-3=5…
Remember, Thursday is ‘Whacky Hair Day’ so be as whacky as you like but school uniform must be worn please!
