Two weeks already done, this half term is going so fast! Everyone has been allocated a role in our play and will be coming home with a suggestion for costumes. Please do not go out and buy anything, we can supply or make anything that we need. Some children have also offered to loan their friends elf hats, furry onesies for the teddies or fairy wings and this is very much appreciated. We will be recording the play using green screen technology as we did last year.
In literacy they are all thinking of ways to innovate the story of the three little pigs. They have replaced the wolf with another carnivore and thought of what it eats to come up with their own version of the story. They have used their science knowledge of materials to replace straw, sticks and bricks too!
This is our last official week learning about addition and subtraction but they will continue to practice these skills in different contexts such as money, measure and statistics.
The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning about William Morris, who was a designer in the Victorian times, and how he created repeating patterns using natural images. They designed a printing tile and used this to create a repeating pattern on a cotton bag. These will be going on display for a while and they will bring them home in the future.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Mrs Dowell, Mrs Armstrong and Miss Childs.
