What a great week we have had learning all about different dinosaurs and finding out about the difference between fiction and non-fiction books as well as the differences between the actual dinosaurs themselves. The children have been writing labels and captions and also using the non-fiction books to find out more information.
In maths they have been learning to use words like tall and short to describe height and long and short to describe length. They have also learned to use cubes to measure accurately and are beginning to compare height and length using the number of cubes each one measured. We even did an investigation today with some predictions before measuring and counting different lengths and heights.
We are very proud to have won the attendance cup today, with the highest class attendance in the whole school and it has been lovely to have everyone in class every day this week.
Next week we have PE on Monday afternoon with the Shrewsbury Town coaches – this will continue til half term. Tuesday is our trip to the Museum. Please ensure your child has a bag to carry their lunch in that they can carry round with them after our workshop. We will be leaving at 9:15am so it is really important everyone is at school on time that day so we can leave promptly. Children must be in school uniform please.
Wednesday will be the first session of Forest School for the second group. Please return permission slips before Wednesday if you have not returned them already.
Have a lovely weekend and don’t forget to keep reading! 🙂
