Welcome back and what a busy week we have had learning about Guy Fawkes, the Hindu festival Diwali and also revisiting Remembrance and talking about why this Sunday is so important. We’ve had a fun-filled week writing firework noises, reading the story of Rama & Sita, making and decorating our own salt dough Diva lamps and learning some Indian dancing. We also really enjoyed planting the trees for the new hedge out on the front field and coppicing the Hazel tree in Forest School with Miss Thelwell, practicing our pruning skills for when it’s time to cut and prepare our marshmallow sticks!
Please look out for the handwriting packs that will be sent home next week, detailing how we teach the children to form their letters. The pack will include some sheets for your child to practice their formation if they wish, as well as a sound card and a copy of the rhymes we use in school to help them remember the formation. If you have any questions about the packs once they have been sent out please let me know.
Don’t forget to keep reading and record it in the yellow reading record so we can ensure your child’s book is changed after the second read. Have a lovely weekend!
