Well what a lovely busy week we have had looking back to when the children were babies, talking about all the things we can do now that we couldn’t do then and also sharing our ideas about what babies do and don’t need. In Maths we have been looking at numbers 1-5, learning about number order and how they are made up as well as how to represent them. If you would like to find out more about how we teach maths in Reception please come along to one of the two sessions on Wednesday 19th September at 9:15am and 2:30 pm. The session will be about 15-20 minutes giving you some information and then we will invite your child up to join us to take part in some fun maths activities. If you attend the 2:30pm session your child can then leave with you at the end. In the morning session your child will have to return to class.
Thank you to everyone who sent in baby photos, it was fantastic sharing them with the children and we have copied them to create a display in our classroom as part of our timeline. It would be great if we could have a similar response for the grandparents information (or great grandparents – as far back as you can!) to fill in our timeline on the way back to 1918 when the First World War ended.
Our Weekly Family Story Time starts tomorrow (Friday 13th September) at 2:45 pm where you are invited to come along and join in with our story time or read a story just with your own child in the classroom. This will be happening EVERY Friday and it would be great to see as many of you there as possible as it always means so much to the children.
Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
