How wonderful to have ALL the children back this week. It really has been lovely to see them all and they have been SO excited to see each other and be back in class! The week seems to have flown by and they’ve all settled back in brilliantly.
They’ve had lots of fun in the Three Little Pigs Role Play and have enjoyed taking part in Science Week. They thought of some fabulous ideas for our ‘Classrooms of the Future’ challenge and have really enjoyed exploring materials, finding out about floating and sinking and setting the toys free from ice today. We have also planted some beans this week so will be looking after them and watching them grow over the next few weeks. The children have shown a great interest in learning more about growing things and lifecycles (especially tadpoles!) so we will be learning more about that over the next week or two.
One of our sessions this week was looking at how we can make something new from something old, so we have challenged to the children to see if they can think of some alternative uses for some recycling – particularly plastics (we talked about how we are a little ‘plastic fantastic’ these days!) and perhaps look at some recycling at home they could find an alternative use for. I’m sure they will come up with some fantastic ideas and we would love to see them via Tapestry if they do.
Thank you so much for all the support with their work over the lockdown period. I am sure they are all tired after such a busy week but it is really important they still do a little reading and practice all those new sounds and tricky words we have learned this term. Just a few minutes each day can make the world of difference and just keep them fresh in their minds.
Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing them all again on Monday.
Miss Jones, Mrs Millichamp and Mrs Kenny.
P.S. Please look in their bags this weekend for a white envelope with your name on – from them to you. 🙂
