Hello and Happy Half Term! The children have all made a super start to their first school year over the last 7 weeks. They have all settled into school life so well and are already showing what superstars they can be. The job of picking Golden Certificate winner gets harder and harder every week as they are all impressing me all the time but well done to this week’s winner Isla-Grace. She has been working hard on her phonics at home as well as at school and this is really showing in her work in class well done.
This week’s Drawing Club was What’s in the Witch’s Kitchen by Nick Sherratt. The children really enjoyed reading it with me and have created some fantastic pictures and passwords or magic words. It really got their imaginations going!
It was lovely to see you all at Parent’s evening on Monday and Tuesday afternoon/evening and update you in person about how your child is getting on. I hope you enjoyed looking through their Literacy books, learning more about Drawing Club and seeing the progress they have made in just a few short weeks.
Thank you to those who came to the third phonics session on Tuesday afternoon. Sorry to see that some people were unable to make it. I have one further session planned for Wednesday 2nd November at 3:30pm. If you have not been to one yet, it would be great to see you there so I can show you how we teach reading in Reception and explain some of the resources that are being sent home and others that are available to them to consolidate their learning.
The children had a super time at the disco yesterday. Huge thank you to the Friends of Crowmoor for arranging such a lovely event for them. Hopefully you will have seen a few videos and photos on Tapestry but I am sure they will have come home and told you all about it. If you are having any issues accessing Tapestry please let me know via the class email address beech@crowmoorschool.co.uk
We hope you all have a lovely, restful and safe half term and enjoy any Halloween festivities! Please remember to keep practising sounds and reading as much as possible so the children are confident with their sounds and tricky words when we return on Monday 31st October. We look forward to seeing you then.
